Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
The movement of the popular, 4-part Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer has taken over the minds and hearts of people of all ages across the nation. The books contain an intriguing storyline narrated by a teenage girl, Bella Swan, who falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. This obviously causes some complications, as vampires’ diets usually consist of human blood. Not only is the plot captivating, but so are the characters. Meyer’s rich and detailed descriptions get the readers totally hooked, making them feel like they themselves are in the story. Twilight is often compared to the Harry Potter series because of its elements of fantasy and adventure. If you are looking to read a classic vampire novel (such a Dracula), complete with gory blood-sucking and fighting scenes, Twilight may not be the book for you because it is more of a love story. The series is especially liked by tween/teenage girls; they tend to fall for the charming Edward Cullen as hard as Bella does. Its well-liked themes of adventure and forbidden love combined make Twilight and its three sequels irresistible page-turners that are guaranteed to enthrall the reader in a world of enchantment, adventure, and love.
