Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare (Infernal Devices #2)
This follow-up to Clockwork Angel picks up in Victorian London, where Clary is living under the protection of the Shadowhunters at the London Institute. She still doesn’t know exactly what type of downworlder she is, just that she has the power to transform into different humans and underworlders as the Dark Sisters taught her in the previous book. Her relationships with the dark and moody Will and the kind and ____ Jem have evolved into a love triangle–although neither of the boys knows that Clary has feelings for both of them. Could it get any juicier??? Meanwhile, the shadowhunters are still looking for the Magister, who has sworn to destroy them all. In this book, Mortmain is his “puppet” and challenges Charlotte’s leadership of the London Institute, creating a do or die situation for Charlotte and her husband Henry, Clary, Jem, Will and Jessica.
The second installment will thrill Clare’s fans, leaving their appetites whet for the third installment, published in 2013. I highly recommend this to fans of either of Clare’s series, fantasy and paranormal fans, and readers looking for a compelling adventure.
