End of Days by Max Turner
This is the second title in the Night Runner series. Picking up a year after learning he’s a vampire, orphan Zack Thompson, his girlfriend Luna and his best friend Charlie, also vampires, are still adjusting to their lives. Zack’s Uncle Max, adult vampires Ophelia and Mr. Entwhistle are all trying to provide guidance and keep them safe, especially from the Coven, which hates child vampires, hunting them down and killing them. Zack and his friends are learning about the Underground, a vampire support network of humans that helps vampires who have taken the pledge to not feed on humans. Something very powerful is murdering both vampires and humans in the Underground; they are all trying to track this creature. Other complications include a mysterious prophecy that could be about Zack.
Non-stop action keeps the reader involved; the plot has some misdirection so reading the first book helps keep track of all the characters. The ending leaves room for more titles in the series.
