Out of Sight, Out of Time by Ally Carter
Gallagher Girls #5
Cammie Morgan, a student at the Gallagher Academy for girl spies, wakes up in a convent high in the Austrian Alps after being unconscious there for six days. Bruised and battered, she thinks it’s June and school just let out, but finds out it’s October 1st. After her mother, a former spy and headmistress of the school, picks her up and takes her home to Virginia, Cammie tries to remember where she was and what she was doing for the past four months. As she, her roommates and Zach, a boy training to be a spy, follow the few clues they have, her mother and other agents caution Cammie, telling her there may be a reason her mind is not cooperating. In her Covert Operations class Cammie finds out she knows how to assemble and operate guns and rifles, which she didn’t know in June. She keeps hearing the same organ music in her head since waking up in the convent, and starts having vivid dreams during which she sleepwalks. The best clue is a package she sent from Rome during the summer.
I can’t tell any details without giving away the plot, but fans of this series will be satisfied as the author starts to connect many of the threads of the plot. The ending promises more Gallagher Girls adventures to come!
